Camp Firelight VBS 2024 invites children of all ages on a summer adventure where they learn to trust God no matter what situation life brings!

Surrounded by water, trees, and rolling hills, Camp Firelight is the perfect location for every Camper’s favorite summer activities! During each assembly session, Campers join first-time camp counselor Sam and Lu (short for Lumen), the lightning bug puppet, and learn to face their fears while trusting in God. Each day, Campers see Counselor Sam face new challenges, from as simple as leading Campers on a hike to as intimidating as meeting a new and wise nature expert. With the help of Lu the Lightning Bug and the Camp Counselor Guidebook, Counselor Sam and our Campers explore timeless Bible stories that show how Old and New Testament characters trusted God in the face of their own fears and went on to do great things in God’s name.

Through these stories, this program will teach us about people in the Bible who experienced the gift of a trusting relationship with God. In addition, it will teach us to trust that God will go with us, lead the way, share wisdom, give us peace, and spark joy as we celebrate the good news of Jesus in our own lives and in the lives of others.

Camp Firelight

Monday June 10
thru Thursday June 13

9am - 12pm (Drop off at 8:45am)

Check in: Living Waters UMC (Belgrade) 51 W. Cameron Bridge Rd.

*The leadership of this ecumenical VBS group has made the difficult decision to cancel the Bozeman location of this year's VBS due to lack of staff to lead the event here. However, Living Waters is set up to continue with their location and will still take registrations and volunteers! If currently registered campers would like to transfer to the Belgrade site or cancel their registration and receive a refund please reach out to office@bozemanumc.org to get that process started.

Camp Firelight Volunteers Needed

Our ecumenical VBS is a shared leadership effort by churches in Bozeman and Belgrade. It is made possible by an incredible, gifted and loving group of youth and adult volunteers. There are various jobs that need doing from serving snacks, helping with crafts/science, games and theater, leading a small group or helping decorate before the first day or tear down at the end of the week.
Volunteer job descriptions here: https://www.bozemanumc.org/hp_wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/VBS-Volunteer-Jobs.pdf
We prefer if we can have as many consistent volunteers to serve all 4 days (June 10th-13th) as possible but we really will try to incorporate volunteers who can only give a 1-2 day commitment too!

Morning: Volunteers arrive 8:30 (drop off for kids is at 8:45am)-12pm after daily cleanup
