We are called by God to experience, celebrate, and share through our actions the love of God.

Music

Music is an integral part of our worship and a vital form of ministry within our church. We have several organized groups described below. If you would like to offer special music (solo or small group, voice or instrumental), contact Lynn Kirtley, Music Coordinator music@bozemanumc.org, or you can call the church office at 586.5413. Summer is a great season to play and sing!

Vocal

Morning Sounds

All "early bird" singers are invited to be part of Morning Sounds, which sings at the 8:30 worship service. They practice Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. in the sanctuary and Sunday mornings at 8:00 in the Music Room.

9:45 Music Team
We would love to have you join our 9:45 Music Team. We are a flexible group, with some members choosing to help lead only twice a month, and others almost every Sunday. If you have an interest in helping lead music, please call Kay with questions or for more information. We practice at 8:45 on Sunday mornings for worship at 9:45 that day.
Director: Kay Lansverk, 586-5413 xt. 101.

Celebration!

Childrens' Choir
Celebration! is our “occasional choir” that enjoys singing folk and global music at the 9:45 worship service - once a month.  Director: Kerri Brown 388-0582.

Each year the children’s choir shares their sweet music at the Figgy Pudding musical celebration and at the children’s Christmas Eve service in December and on Palm Sunday and at the 9:45 Easter Service. Rehearsals are held at 9:00 am from the beginning of November through Christmas and again in the spring, from the middle of February through Easter. Director: Ann Dickensheets 586-5413 xt. 107.

Instrumental

BUMC Brass Ensemble
This fun-loving group plays everything from traditional hymns and gospel favorites to jazz and contemporary music.  They practice every Wednesday evening at 7:15 p.m. downstairs in the Music Room, and play in the worship services at least once a month.  Director:  Bob Flaherty, 586-1157.

Glory Ringers

Glory Ringers is our high school and adult bell choir. They meet on Wednesdays from 5:30-7:00 p.m. in the Music Room. Anyone with a basic knowledge of music and sense of rhythm can learn to ring bells. A couple individual or small group sessions can be arranged to give beginners a head start before joining the established choir. This group rehearses weekly, rings for church services once a month, and accepts invitations to perform in the community on occasion.

 Bells of the Bridgers

This community bell choir open to experienced and advanced ringers in the Bozeman area regardless of church affiliation. Currently in their 2nd season, this group rehearses on Thursdays 5:30-7:00.

Methodists Mentoring Musicians  This intergenerational group meets on the first Wednesday of each month from 5:30 to 6:00 p.m.. This unique group was formed to help our elementary aged musicians in our BUMC family; many picking up an instrument for the first time. You don’t have to be a professional; if you play an instrument and can lend support and “tips” to “budding” musicians—please come! Don’t forget your instruments!!! Contact Jill, 586-5413, ext 117 with questions.
