DIGGING IN: Sunday School 9:30-10:25am
For four or five week periods, our Preschool and Kindergarten-5th Grade Children explore one theme or story that is currently being preached on in our worship service.
Our youth serve as Sunday School Interns, leading a small group and developing relationships with the children in their small group while helping them with their reading and projects for the week.
Our Adult Volunteers serve as Teachers in our classroom for 25-30 minutes. All of our weekly curriculum activities, stories and supplies are provided. You only need to sign up for one week a month, or semester or year (providing flexibility and opportunity for you to also participate in an small group or Bible Study of your own!

Volunteers: How You Can Help with Faith Learning & Christian Education
  • Preschool teacher: Team of 4-6 adults (two of you teaching at least one Sunday a month) help teach our littlest 3-5 year olds in our preschool classroom; Sept.-May partnered with a team of teachers that alternate to share the curriculum and class.
  • K-5th grade rotation leader: Help K-5th grade children explore a Bible story or faith theme being taught in our current worship sermon series from on learning perspective (science, art, drama, cooking etc.). 1 week commitment, but you can teach as many times during the year as you are able!
  • Youth Interns — Middle Schoolers & High Schoolers have a unique opportunity this fall to help lead the Pre-K thru 5th graders in their learning as BUMC Sunday School Interns. They will be leading teams of “buddies” through their activities each Sunday, developing new relationships and leadership skills.
  • Leading or Co-Leading an Adult Learning Class from spiritual gifts, to social justice, to learning more about Paul… there are hundreds of opportunities available. Talk to Kay about what kind of small group discussion or study you are looking for! 406-551-7206
