Music

Music is an integral part of our worship and a vital form of ministry within our church. We have several organized groups described below. If you would like to offer special music (solo or small group, voice or instrumental), contact Jenny Eck at 585.3034 (home), 595.3035 (cell), or jenny@jennyrene.com. Or you can call the church office at 586.5413. Summer is a great season to play and sing!

Vocal

Morning Sounds

All "early bird" singers are invited to be part of Morning Sounds, which sings at the 8:30 worship service. They practice Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. in the sanctuary and Sunday mornings at 8:00 in the Music Room.

9:45 Music Team Anyone who would love to be a part of the music team at our middle worship service is invited to participate any Sunday they are available. Join us in the fun of helping kids of all ages praise the Lord. We practice at 9:00 on Sunday before the 9:45 service.
Celebration! Celebration! is our "occasional choir" that periodically enjoys singing folk and global music at the 9:45 worship service...on occasion. Contact Kerri Brown at 388.0582 if you are interested.

Instrumental

BUMC Brass Ensemble This fun-loving group plays everything from traditional hymns and gospel favorites to jazz and contemporary music. They practice every Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the Music Room and play in the worship services at least once a month.
Glory Ringers

Glory Ringers is our adult bell choir. Beginning on September 5, the group resumes rehearsals. They meet on Wednesdays from 5:30-7:00 p.m. in the Music Room. Novice and experienced ringers are invited to join. Anyone with a basic knowledge of music and sense of rhythm can learn to ring bells. Beginners can arrange individual or small group sessions to get a head start before joining the established choir. Additional ringers are especially welcome this time of year. This group rehearses weekly, rings for church services once a month, and occasionally accepts invitations to perform in the community.

Youth Bells

This group is for 7th and 8th graders. They meet with Pat Dickensheets at the First Presbyterian Church on Mondays at 3:45 beginning October 23. Young ringers with previous ringing experience or those who have received instruction in another instrument are invited to participate.

Good Vibes For 4th-6th graders, this group meets with Wanda Myers and Jen Poore at Bozeman United Methodist Church on Thursdays at 3:45 beginning September 28 and continuing through mid-December
Both youth groups, Youth Bells and Good Vibes, meet after school at 3:45, share a snack and social time, and then rehearse until 5:00 p.m. Carpools can be arranged for those who need transportation. The handbell program for youth is ecumenical, in cooperation with First Presbyterian and other local churches.
Community Bell Choir Advanced ringers in the Bozeman area will be invited to participate in a community ensemble being formed this fall. As a newly formed choir, the members will decide on the group's goals and direction. Rehearsals will be on Thursdays from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.
Teentinnabulators This group of 8th graders and high schoolers resume rehearsals in November. Youth with musical background are invited to join. Don't be intimidated because you have limited or no ringing experience. If you can read music, you can learn to ring bells.
