Bible Study During Lent

Thursdays through March 22, at Noon in the Friendship Room: “Six Ways of Looking at Easter”, Bible Study with retired Pastor Dave McConnell. We are very excited to have Pastor Dave share his gift of teaching with us again. He says … “Since Easter is the Main Event, just what does the Bible tell us about Easter? What happened, and what does it mean for us and for the first Christians? How are we to live as Easter People? We will look at the Bible passages, but also at the ways Easter answers some of our most basic questions about God, death, and hope. And also, what Easter tells us about Jesus.” ” If you need a ride, please call Jennifer Heiss @ 541-746-0947. She has the names of people in our church who are willing to bring you to the Bible Study!”

Get on the Bus!

Please join the Mission Team and bring your friends on Wednesday evenings during Lent for dinner and discussion of local social justice issues. Each discussion will be led by informed local experts working in the areas of poverty, mental health, discrimination and sexual predation. We will learn how Methodists are working in these areas and how we at BUMC can join in that work or develop new actions. We will join together the weekend of April 7-8 to put our faith and newfound understanding into action within the Bozeman area with a variety of work experiences for all ages. We’ll end the weekend with a celebratory dinner at BUMC.
Wednesday schedule:
5:15-6:00 PM, Hearty soup supper, Friendship Room; 6-7:30 PM, Teaching and discussion in the sanctuary.

Vacation Bible School 2018! (VBS)

VBS Leadership Team will start meeting in February. Please contact:

Would you like to be more involved? There are so many ways to share your talents and gifts. Here are a few to explore:

United Methodists continue to heed the lessons our founder, John Wesley, taught his followers: to live lovingly and justly as servants of Christ by healing the sick, feeding the hungry, caring for the stranger, freeing the oppressed; being a compassionate presence, and working to develop social structures that are consistent with the gospel.
We achieve this goal by serving throughout the world in different way. In 2008, church leadership designated four areas of ministry focus for all levels of the church.
  • Ministering with the Poor
  • Improving Global Health
  • Growing Vital Churches
  • Developing Christian Leaders
The church also has always been deeply committed to disaster relief and advocacy efforts. It is part of our Wesleyan DNA. All of these efforts to serve God also serve our neighbors and fulfill our mission to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
